How this archive works

What gets in, what does not, and what happens to a submission after it is filed.

Editorial standards

Entries are added only with primary documentation attached — a court filing, a roll-call record, an official transcript, an agency release, or an unedited recording. Secondary reporting is accepted when it cites the primary document. The description of an entry states what the source shows and stops where the source stops.

Every submission is reviewed by a moderator before it appears, and the reviewer's name and date are kept with the entry. Items that need one clarifying answer are held, never guessed at. Declined submissions are retained in the archive's internal log rather than deleted, so a later reviewer can see what was turned away and why.

This archive documents public conduct by people who hold or held power. Home addresses, family members and private contact details are out of scope and are removed in review. Private citizens are out of scope.

Nothing is edited after publication except to correct the record, and corrections are marked. If something here is wrong, say so and show the document.

Terms of Use

The material here is published for the public record. You may read, quote and link to it with attribution. Submitting a receipt does not transfer ownership of the document you send; it grants this archive permission to preserve and publish it as part of an entry.

Do not submit material you obtained unlawfully, and do not submit anything you are under a legal obligation not to disclose. The archive publishes documents, not accusations: a submission without a source attached is declined.

Privacy

The anonymous submission form stores no account, no email address and no IP address. That is a design constraint of this site, not a policy that can be quietly relaxed: the anonymous path writes none of those fields at all.

A submission filed by a registered contributor is stored against that account so a moderator can ask a question and the contributor can see what happened to it. Contact messages are stored so the archive can reply. Nothing collected here is sold or shared with advertisers.

Automated abuse of the public forms is limited by a short-lived, salted counter that is discarded on the hour and never stored against a submission.
