Conflated the number of objecting lawmakers with the number of companies

It said

One hundred and forty-seven companies suspended donations to objecting members after January 6.

It now says

Nearly 250 companies suspended donations to the 147 lawmakers who objected. Fewer than a third kept the promise.

147 is the count of Republican members of Congress who voted to sustain an objection — 139 in the House and 8 in the Senate. The number of companies announcing a suspension was roughly 250, per CREW's tally. Two figures of similar size describing different things; the error was ours and nobody else repeated it.

Stated a combined total where the correct figure is a union

It said

Thirteen senators voted to object.

It now says

Eight senators voted to sustain at least one objection.

Six senators voted for the Arizona objection and seven for Pennsylvania, but five voted for both. Adding the two roll calls double-counts them. The entry now states the union and links to each roll call separately.

Cited a settlement for a finding the settlement did not make

It said

The court found the broadcast claims false in the $787.5 million settlement.

It now says

The court held the claims false on summary judgment on March 31, 2023. The settlement, three weeks later, made no findings.

A settlement resolves a case; it does not adjudicate anything. The finding of falsity came from the earlier ruling, which is the document that should have been cited all along.

Implied all four family members held government positions

It said

The Trump family members who served in his administration.

It now says

Kushner and Ivanka Trump held White House positions. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump held no government office; they were trustees of their father's trust.

Only two of the four served. Flattening the distinction made the entry easier to dismiss and was unfair to the specific facts, which are damaging enough stated accurately.
